Save to your support info 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 1️⃣ your body struggles more to maintain steady blood sugar in luteal (the 10-14 days before your period) so it is really important for your mood to keep eating regular meals, starting with a protein rich breakfast 2️⃣ your metabolism increases at this time too, most burning around 100-300 extra calories, which can contribute to increased hunger and cravings if you aren’t fueling 3️⃣ luteal may need this extra support, but if you’re suffering with premenstrual symptoms right now, you’ll agree it’s literally the HARDEST time to do it because your brain is constantly battling with you on how hard everything is - so the cycle continues. This is why luteal phase eating MUST be simplified in to a few key priorities that focus on blood sugar, fuel and minimal effort. 4️⃣ Shifting hormones can increase food sensory issues and also affect your appetite. The answer is not neglecting your fuel, but rather making small tweaks so it feels easier. Things like finding a breakfast that doesn’t feel weird texturally, I like a smoothie, Eating more little and often for appetite OR ensuring your needs are thought about before those days arrive so you can have prepped meals that you’ll actually want to eat. #pmdd #pmddsupport #premenstrual #imluteal

To mark #pmdawarenessmonth I have uploaded my luteal phase ‘hell week’ survival kit as a completely free resource I wrote this based more so on my lived experience, while still incorporating my training into the practices - Why? because I know first hand how impossible it can feel to do all the things that help you feel better when the tidal wave of a bad luteal phase comes for you 🔁 You can download it now via the link in my bio. Love you all and thanks as always for being a part of this page x note: PMD awareness month aims to raise awareness of premenstrual disorders such as PMDD and PME @iapmdglobal #pmddawareness #pmddsupport #lutealphase #imluteal
