Empowering Young Creatives at the V&A Museum Once again, (it's our fourth year!!), an incredible day was had at the V&A Museum's Upstart Schools Day where Fashion Minority Alliance brought together ten schools, from across London, to explore careers in fashion. Across the day students learned directly from Oscar nominated costume designer Mayes C Rubeo, international athletic apparel brand Gymshark, Vogue Business senior reporter Maliha Shoaib_ and film-and-fashion team Cherif Douamaba and Ottawa Kwami, gaining real industry insights, mentorship and hands-on experience. They sketched, crafted, asked questions, joined panel talks, explored exhibitions, and built confidence and relationships through creative workshops. These moments of belonging, skill building and industry access are at the core of our mission: opening pathways for young people who are often excluded from fashion and beauty careers. Huge thank you to the @vamuseum and all our partners, particularly June Lawrence, Dawn Mason Inc and David Otzen for helping to create opportunities that inspire, empower and transform futures. . . . . . . . [image shows two seated girl students in school uniform which consists of grey blazer with red piping on the collar. Beneath their blazers they wear grey v-neck jumpers with red piping on the v under which can be seen open neck red and white striped shirts. The student on the left is sketching on a pad while the student on the left watches. Above the image in white letters reads "Young Creatives at the V&A Museum" and beneath the image is written "Access. Inspiration. Opportunity" the image is imposed on a salmon pink background] #YouthEmpowerment #Creative #creativeminds #VAUpstartFestival #LondonCreatives #VAMuseum #fashionindustry #designinspiration #future #fashionminorityalliance #fashion
